ALTER DO CHAO
Alter do Chao is a small and welcoming village in the Amazon with a population of just 7,000 people. The primary population consists of caboclo river people, Borari Indians, and a community of southeastern Brazilians who practice deep spirituality influenced by Amazonian traditions.
As you might have guessed, this isn’t a port chocked full of site seeing opportunities.
Consider spending time on the sandy beaches, stroll around the small town, or perhaps visit the Tapajos National Forest.
Alter do Chao is a small village that very few people visit, and unique chance to experience the authentic side of the Amazon.
